Birds, critters and a few scenes around northwest Louisiana
After a 25-year layoff from photography as a hobby, I bought a digital camera in early 2006 and became a beginning amateur all over again. New camera by my side, I discovered "birds" and "critters". They have kindled what I'll call a most pleasurable photographic challenge and experience.
Constantly listening and observing, I mostly photograph from my van window. Vehicles up close just don't spook wildlife like people do! With patience, perseverence, and familiarity with the inhabitants/habitats in an area, one has the ingredients for rewarding photos. Seize the opportunities.
When I miss an opportunity, I recall what a fellow photographer once wrote: "When you miss shots, laugh. When you capture great shots, thank nature for the opportunity" —Gil
Again, seize the opportunities that nature provides. I'm learning and catching up after 60 years . The relaxation with nature is a bonus! Welcome to NW Louisiana.
