These are weird, strange, outrageous....just plain freaky, but real. I take any image and flip half of it over on itself. Each half of the image is identical.

It's still total reality, just half of it twice!
Freaky huh?

Big Critters

Not much here, as I just don't happen upon much "big" wildlife. I keep up with a nutria family and a few squirrels, but maybe someday I will get the opportunity for the really big critters.

Egrets

The blinding white Great Egrets and Snowy Egrets are abundant in Louisiana and can be found around almost any pond, river or lake.....even in a roadside ditch if it's holding water.
Calling them keen fishers is an understatement, these egrets will dine on anything from snakes and crawfish to large fish and small duckling. They are not picky at all.
A challenge to photograph and get details in the bright white lay of feathers.

I suggest selecting to view by slideshow and enjoy the egret's beauty for a few minutes

There is a bit of beauty in these ultra common sparrows. Many of these I photographed in a McDonald's parking lot while enjoying morning coffee.....see photo#1. That huge sign post makes a wonderful background

Louisiana Commoners

Common NW Louisiana species

Louisiana doesn't have a monopoly on the species in this gallery, nor are they rarities in the wild. In fact, Louisiana spends over $15 million annually trying to remove these species.

The herons, egrets, frogs, dragonflies, birds and fish that co-habitate with these "commoners" never complain of their presence, but are tolerant of US who turn these "commoners" loose in their backyards

Innocent defenseless tolerance!
